The first season of Hasta el fin del mundo was the best premiere of a reality competition on La 1 since 2018.
The 14 participants of the second season of the La 1 adventure talent show, Hasta el fin del mundo, began their journey. This Monday they departed from Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas Airport bound for the gateway to the ancient Silk Road, the starting point of their route.
María del Monte and Rocío Muñoz; Elena Ballesteros and her daughter Jimena; Borjamina and Miguel Ángel Gómez; Benita Castejón and Tony R.; Jorge Sanz and Merlín Sanz; and athletes Odeia Jainaga and Fiona Pinar left the Madrid airport early in the morning, while the couple María José Campanario and Belinda Washington departed on a later flight.
They are joined by Paula Vázquez, who returns to host the second season of the Spanish adaptation, produced by RTVE in collaboration with Zeppelin (Banijay Iberia).
The participants in this second season will travel a long route of more than 10,000 kilometers, from the gateway of the ancient Silk Road to the most awe-inspiring volcanoes of the Pacific Ring of Fire; from the legendary Chinese empires to the Buddhist kingdoms; from great civilizations to the wildest and most diverse wilderness, in a great challenge lasting more than two months.
The first season was the best premiere for a reality competition on La 1 since 2018 and ended as the leader in its time slot with a 12.2% share, 761,000 viewers, and 3 million contacts.
Hasta el fin del mundo is the adaptation of Race Across the World, an internationally successful format created by Studio Lambert and distributed by All3Media International. Awarded a BAFTA in 2020 for Best Reality and Constructed Factual, it has been a hit on the BBC for five seasons, with premieres exceeding seven million viewers, and also has a celebrity version, with a second season coming this year. It has been adapted in the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark (Først til verdens ende), Finland (Race Across the World Suomi), Germany for ZDF, and Norway for TV Norge.
