The agreement will begin with the 2026/27 season, coinciding with the launch of the new GEN4 era. The distribution through Disney+ will reach 144 territories.

Formula E, Disney+ and ESPN have announced a landmark multi-year agreement that will make Disney+ the global streaming home of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship across 144 territories, including the US, where the championship will also stream on ESPN+.

The agreement will take effect from the 2026/27 season, coinciding with the launch of Formula E’s new GEN4 era.

The partnership will allow Formula E to expand its international reach through Disney’s global streaming ecosystem while maintaining its existing portfolio of free-to-air and linear broadcast partners across key markets.

Full Formula E coverage on Disney+

Subscribers to Disney+ in the 144 territories covered by the agreement will have access to live coverage of every Formula E race weekend, including all practice sessions, qualifying sessions and races.

The offering will also include dedicated preview and review shows, race highlights, analysis, exclusive behind-the-scenes content and full race replays available on demand following each event.

The Disney+ streaming deal will complement Formula E’s existing broadcast partnerships, providing fans with additional ways to follow the championship in different markets.

“This is a landmark moment for Formula E and reflects the incredible momentum behind our championship. Disney’s unrivalled global reach and storytelling will introduce Formula E to millions of new fans while bringing them closer than ever to the drama, innovation and excitement of electric racing,” said Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E.

He added that the agreement comes as the championship enters the GEN4 era and will provide a platform to accelerate its global growth, while opening up opportunities for further collaboration between Formula E and Disney beyond live race coverage.

Michaella Snoeck, Chief Media Officer at Formula E, said the agreement reflects the global demand for the championship and that Disney’s scale will complement its existing linear television network while accelerating its digital footprint.

“Formula E combines world-class competition, groundbreaking technology, and sustainability in a way that’s unlike any other sport. We’re excited to help power the championship’s next chapter on Disney+ and to give fans around the globe front-row access to every adrenaline-fueled race as it happens,” said Joe Earley, Co-President, Direct-to-Consumer, Disney Entertainment.
