The sparkling 2D animated comedy series for kids 5–8 will premiere a full episode on Saturday, October 10 in Cannes.
Easy Peasy Entertainment and Bardaf! Production will host the world premiere screening of Migali at MIP Junior, inviting international buyers and children’s content executives to be among the first to discover the new 2D animated comedy series, distributed by Moon-Keys International Content.
The screening will take place on Saturday, October 10 at 16:30 in the Debussy Theatre, with delegates getting an exclusive first look at a full episode of the 52×11’ series.
A sparkling comedy bursting with humor, energy and a thoroughly modern heroine, Migali is aimed at kids aged 5–8 and is adapted from the best-selling comic series published by Auzou Éditions, which comprises nine volumes and has sold more than 150,000 copies. The series transports audiences to the joyful, colorful world of the Royal Academy, a prestigious school where princes and princesses from across the kingdoms come together. At the heart of it all is Migali, a young Spider Princess with one ambition: one day, she will be queen.
But while Migali may be destined for the throne, life at the Royal Academy doesn’t always go according to plan. Gifted with the power to weave webs, as well as seemingly limitless energy and a penchant for fun, Migali has a talent for turning even the most ordinary school day into spectacular mayhem. At the Academy, she is less interested in royal protocol than in having fun, making friends and getting into hilarious adventures.
Adélaïde TERME, CEO & Producer at Easy Peasy Entertainment, said: “We are so happy to finally reveal our spider princess ! MIGALI is a very sincere, generous and unperfect main female character that will bring everyone together. It is an honor for us to premiere Easy Peasy Entertainment first production to this iconic event that is MIP Junior ! Thanks to our amazing partners, TF1, RTBF, RTS and VRT, we are looking forward to sharing this 2D series with the industry in Cannes this year.”
Lucy Smith, Director of MIP Junior, said: “MIP Junior provides an important platform for producers and distributors to showcase their projects to the international kids’ content community, and we’re delighted to welcome Migali to this year’s screening programme. It’s a great opportunity to bring the series to the big screen in Cannes and give buyers and industry professionals the chance to experience a full episode together as part of the MIP Junior programme.”
With its colorful world, energetic comedy and relatable school adventures, Migali brings a fresh twist to the princess story, placing a mischievous, web-slinging heroine at the center of a world where royal expectations meet the everyday chaos of childhood.
