The new Spanish-language microdramas, Encerrada con el enemigo (Trapped with the Enemy) and Infidelidad amenzada (Threatened Infidelity), were both produced in Los Angeles and are set to debut later this year.
JK Media Group, the production company behind Ninel Conde: Sin Filtro, Chiquis Sin Filtro and La Trevi Sin Filtro, is producing a pair of new microdramas for TelevisaUnivision’s ViXMicrO, two of the first-ever produced in the U.S. for the platform.
The new Spanish-language microdramas, Encerrada con el enemigo (Trapped with the Enemy) and Infidelidad amenzada (Threatened Infidelity), were both produced in Los Angeles and are set to debut later this year.
Each series consists of 60 stand-alone episodes that are a minute and a half in length.
The two series are executive produced by JK Media Group’s Sebastian Jimenez and Flavio Morales, who recently was an EP on HBO Max’s global hit Like Water for Chocolate. Sergio Jablon (Súbete a Mi Moto) serves as writer on both series.
Encerrada con el enemigo is a romantic thriller that unfolds in real time, within a single setting, where the suspense offers no respite and desire seeps through the cracks of fear. Infidelidad amenzada is a romantic comedy with teeth—where infidelity is the doorway into a twisty thriller of entanglements, betrayals, and desire, in which no one is entirely innocent… but some are far guiltier than others.
Fernanda Romero (The Eye, The Burning Plain) stars in both Infidelidad amenzada and Encerrada con el enemigo. Suanny Serpas (Eye for an Eye) and comedian Concrete also appear in Infidelidad amenzada, while Encerrada con el enemigo features a special appearance by Liliana Arriaga (La Chupitos).
“We are excited to dive into the microdrama space for the first time and launching some of the first-ever U.S. produced vertical series for ViXMicrO,” said JK Media Group CEO Sebastian Jimenez. “We assembled a tremendous team, both in front of and behind the camera, for these two series and we can’t wait to share them with the ViX audience.”
Encerrada con el enemigo: Clara Méndez believed her toxic and violent relationship with Hugo was over the day she reported him and watched him go to prison. But Hugo has escaped. Infidelidad amenzada: Daniela comes home on an ordinary day and calls out to her husband. Mario doesn’t answer because he’s busy: on the building’s terrace, making love to Valentina, the yoga neighbor who always smiles a little too much. What Daniela still doesn’t know, the audience knows from the very first minute—and that imbalance is the engine of a story that never lets up. When a watch left behind at the crime scene exposes Mario, Carlos appears: the new neighbor—attractive, with a past marked by his own scars.
Something sparks between him and Daniela that neither of them was looking for, and neither of them can ignore. But what seems like a story about two cheaters trapped in the wrong marriages turns out to be far darker: Valentina isn’t just an impulsive lover. She has a plan, she has an accomplice, and she’s very clear about what she wants—the building, the property Daniela’s father designed and that the marriage has kept intact. And if Daniela gets in the way, then Daniela can disappear.
JK Media recently launched Ninel Conde: Sin Filtro with ViX and produced the historic pay-per-view live broadcast of Gloria Trevi: Live from BMO Stadium, which was streamed with VEEPS. JK Media is set to produce additional PPV events across the globe, including soon-to-be-announced events in Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina.
