The three-part premium documentary series, co-produced by C3 Media and Yap Films, has been pre-sold to Warner Bros. Discovery, SBS and Bell Media ahead of its Mipcom 2026 launch.

Cineflix Rights has acquired the international rights to Senna: The Last Race, a three-part premium limited series co-produced by Canadian production companies C3 Media and Yap Films.

The project has already secured pre-sales to Warner Bros. Discovery for Latin America, SBS for Australia and Bell Media for Canada, with the deals closed ahead of its official presentation at Mipcom 2026.

Senna: The Last Race examines the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Brazilian Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, who died in 1994 during the San Marino Grand Prix while at the height of his career.

The series reconstructs the investigation that followed the crash and explores the questions that emerged about its causes and the safety conditions in motorsport at the time.

Drawing on access to investigators, friends and eyewitnesses, the production combines first-hand testimony, technical analysis and personal accounts to revisit the events of that fateful weekend and their aftermath.

Beyond the circumstances of the crash, the series examines Senna’s impact on the sport and his legacy. His death prompted significant safety reforms in Formula 1, while his status as one of the most influential figures in motorsport continues decades after his final race.

“Ayrton Senna was a global icon whose life and tragic death touched millions of people around the world, both motorsports fans and the wider public. We anticipate significant interest from international buyers in this premium limited series from two award-winning production companies with extensive experience in the documentary genre,” said Richard Life, SVP Acquisitions and Co-productions at Cineflix Rights.

“That’s why we backed Senna: The Last Race from the start. We are very pleased to have secured pre-sales with Warner Bros. Discovery in Latin America, SBS and Bell Media ahead of its launch at MIPCOM,” he added.

The addition of Senna: The Last Race expands Cineflix Rights’ documentary offering ahead of MIPCOM 2026, reinforcing its focus on premium factual content with international appeal.
