The Satisfaction game show format adds its third territory and second international adaptation, following the German version launched in August.
Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) announced at Mipcom a deal for The Final Circle in Romania, where Dogan Media has commissioned a local adaptation of the format for Kanal D.
Created by Satisfaction, the primetime game show brings together 50 contestants in a 360-degree circular arena, with the host positioned in the center. Contestants must make their way through successive rounds of questions and move toward the inner circle, testing skills such as logic, memory, language, calculation, and visual and spatial awareness.
With no lifelines or shortcuts, the competition demands quick thinking and adaptability. As the rounds progress, the questions become increasingly difficult until only two contestants remain to face off in the final circle for the grand prize.
The format debuted on TF1 in June 2025 under the title Le Dernier Cercle and returned for a second season. In summer 2026, celebrities joined contestants for its third installment. Germany became the first international market to adapt the show with Wer ist Deutschlands Superhirn?, which premiered on Sat.1 in August 2026, hosted by Jörg Pilawa.
“Studio game shows remain at the heart of broadcasters’ commissioning strategies, and they continue to attract interest for the same reasons they always have: strong gameplay, a clear structure, and a payoff audiences love,” said André Renaud, GVP of Format & Finished Sales at WBITVP.
He highlighted how The Final Circle draws on different skills in each round, allowing the competition to shift quickly and keeping contestants in the game. Renaud also expressed confidence that Romanian audiences will enjoy the format when Kanal D launches its local version.
Clara Bomboe, Strategy, Planning and Programming Director at Kanal D Romania, highlighted the format’s combination of suspense, unexpected twists, and audience participation. She also emphasized its visual appeal and potential to engage viewers of different ages, in line with the channel’s track record in studio game shows.
The deal was brokered by Reema Patel, Director of Formats at WBITVP.
