The Italian company will add four telenovelas and four seasons of the series System Crash to its catalog, securing rights across all channels and platforms in the Italian market.
ETS Group has signed a distribution agreement with Globo to bring a selection of Brazilian productions to Italy, expanding its international catalog with titles from one of Latin America’s leading audiovisual companies.
The agreement covers the distribution in Italy, across all channels and platforms, of the telenovelas Avenida Brasil, The Life We Lead, Mania of You and Sweet Ambition, as well as all four seasons of the series System Crash.
The partnership combines Globo’s expertise in developing and producing fiction content for international markets with ETS Group’s experience across different stages of the audiovisual value chain, from post-production and localization to distribution and rights management.
“Italy has always been a strategic market for Globo, and we are delighted to strengthen our presence in the country through this collaboration with ETS Group,” said Rodrigo Nascimento, Globo’s Head of Business Development for EMEA.
The executive also highlighted the track record of Brazilian productions in the territory, recalling the connection that titles such as Terra Nostra and The Clone have built with Italian audiences.
For his part, Piero Piacentini, CEO of ETS Group, highlighted the commercial potential of Globo’s productions and the opportunity the agreement represents to expand the company’s content offering in Italy.
With more than 50 years of experience, ETS Group operates across audiovisual post-production, dubbing, localization, production, distribution and licensing.
The agreement is part of Globo’s international expansion strategy. This year, the company marks 50 years since distributing its first telenovela outside Brazil. Globo manages its EMEA operations from Lisbon, under Nascimento’s leadership.
During Mipcom, Globo also announced agreements and partnerships with companies including Banijay, BBC, SIC, Ay Yapım and Alpha TV.
