A vertical maze, a kitchen battle between neighbors or a contest for TikTokers are just some of the finalists of the MipCancun Formats Pitch, organized together with All3Media International.

MipCancun announced the finalists for the second edition of Formats Pitch, organized in association with All3Media International, which will be held virtually during MipCancun Online+ (November 17 to 20).

The competition offers producers a window to present their format idea in a dynamic competitive environment, with the advice and intervention at each stage of experienced television producers and executives.

The winner will be chosen by a luxury jury, and will receive a prize of US$ 5,000 to develop their idea in the next stage of the pitch, and a personalized high-value report document, as well as time with a key executive for their idea.

The Formats Pitch session will take place on November 19 and will be available to all registered in MipCancun Online+.

THE FINALISTS

The final selection jury was made up of Graham Spencer and Maartje Horchner from All3Media International, Sushil Mirchandani from Second Star, and Carmen Ferreiro and Ana Cueto from Atresmedia.

Up next, the five projects that will compete in MipCancun:

Vertical Maze
Production Company: Gammy (Gamaliel Paulus S.)
Country: Indonesia

What if the maze is vertical? In the first round, three teams will compete to traverse a giant vertical maze – one contestant enters and the other leads. The team that manages to press the bell first will go to the final round, where two contestants will enter the vertical maze simultaneously. If they successfully ring all six bells within the specified time, they will win the grand prize.

Building Battle
Production Company: Elo Company
Country: Brazil

A culinary battle between neighbors of the same building. In this reality show, three families compete in two different challenges to find out who is the best cook. A light and fun competition focused on strengthening relationships between people who must live in the same building.

Trix & Trax
Production Company: TrixandTrax LLC
Country: Venezuela

The talent show for the TikTok generation. In this documentary-reality and competition format, talents from two schools compete by creating short-form video performances, which are published on social media. Each college is run by a captain who must make decisions in secret. The spin of a roulette wheel, whose spaces are labeled with comments to the videos, determines the winning school, providing an experience similar to a game show, where surprise and luck keep the public hooked.

Celeb Diaries
Production Company: Secuoya Contenidos
Country: Spain

Celebrity teen diaries come out, just to laugh! An insightful host reads the newspapers aloud, and the stars must play themselves as teenagers in skits based on their real lives. Other celebrities comment, add their own memories and lots of laughs.

Max Planner
Production Company: ZOLKING
Country: Mexico

A group of professionals and amateurs dedicated to planning events live inside the most intense party house. In each chapter, they compete in an individual challenge to be the captains of one of the two teams that face against time to create, in just five days, two extraordinary parties for the most diverse and demanding customers. Every party runs the risk of being boycotted by our fearsome bots, while contestants are judged minute by minute by three judges who will eliminate the worst planner every week.
