Lucy Smith, director of Mipcom, announced changes in the October event’s agenda and structure.

Less than three months before a new in-person edition of Mipcom, the organization of the event announced a slight change of plans with regards to what was initially announced.

The most significant change, perhaps, is the one affecting MipJunior, which will now take place in parallel with Mipcom (between October 11 and 14) and not the weekend prior, as is customary and as announced initially.

Registration will be unique for the two events.

In addition, it was decided it could do without the P-1 floor (called by many the bunker) to pass the bulk of the fair to Riviera Hall 7 and higher floors, which have more ventilated and open-air spaces.

“We understand that previously announced plans needed to be reviewed. In response, we have established a new floor plan. We will also offer all exhibitors with confirmed stands flexibility to resize their stands if necessary. We can also help with the décor and will offer a selection of pre-set solutions in different sizes to fit budgets,” said Lucy Smith, Director of Mipcom.

The Riviera 8 Hall will also host the opening party, the Women in Global Entertainment Lunch and different conferences and networking events.

To all this will be added in parallel the Digital Mipcom platform, which will serve this time as a complement to the event.

“Mipcom 2021 will be supported by a new digital extension, designed not as a virtual event but as a networking, discovery, marketing and lead-generating platform that can be used by all who go to Cannes as well as those who have not been able to travel,” she announced.

Regarding security measures, it will be required to present a valid Health Pass that proves to have the complete vaccination schedule, a negative test or immunity after having had the disease.

At the moment the vaccines accepted by the European Medicines Agency are BioNTech and Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen Pharmaceutica SA.
