Juan Carlos Balassanian joins the company as General Manager of 1190 Sports Peru, while Víctor Roldán is the new Head of Legal Affairs for Latin America

1190 Sports, a global company dedicated to the management and commercialization of sports transmission, image and distribution rights, holder of the transmission rights of Liga1 Peru since 2023, has hired Juan Carlos Balassanian as General Manager of 1190 Sports Peru.

Based in Lima, Peru, Balassanian leads the efforts dedicated to supporting the growth of the operation, as well as the development of strategic alliances in the Peruvian market, where 1190 Sports seeks to bring the main local soccer competition to international standards that further promote its professionalization and regional and international competitiveness.

Balassanian has developed his extensive career leading commercial areas of leading media and entertainment companies such as Turner Latin America and more recently WarnerMedia where he served as General Manager for Brazil and Senior VP of Distribution Sales for Latin America.

Simultaneously, the company reported that Víctor Roldán joins the ranks of 1190 Sports as Head of Legal Affairs for Latin America. Roldán has more than 20 years of experience as a legal advisor in the entertainment industry, where he was in charge of the legal aspects of business development and governance of companies such as WarnerMedia and previously Turner Latin America. Based in Buenos Aires, Roldán will now bring his vast experience to bear in his new position at 1190 Sports.

The 1190 Sports expansion plan for Liga1 Peru seeks to follow the steps taken by the company’s management with the Brasileirao & Liga Argentina, whose distribution today amounts to +150 countries around the world, in up to 13 languages and with a potential audience. of +650 million people.

Currently, 1190 Sports manages the international broadcast rights of the most important soccer leagues in Latin America, the Liga Argentina de Fútbol Profesional (through AFD, Argentina Football Distribution) and Series A & B of the Campeonato Brasileirão; as well as Liga1 of Peru. 1190 Sports is also part of the consortium that is in charge of managing the broadcast, image and sponsorship rights of “La Roja” -Chilean soccer teams- for the period 2023-2026; among other properties.
