At a time when formats are a go-to in Latin America and the world for platforms and broadcasters, NBCUniversal Formats is armed with a catalog of scripted and unscripted titles, suitable for all audiences.

“We are excited to be in Miami to meet our LatAm and US Hispanic clients,” said Ana Langenberg, senior VP of Format Sales and Production at NBCUniversal Formats UK.

“On the unscripted side we are highlighting House of Villains, which is our new reality competition which aired on E! in the US to great success and is coming back for a second season. We think it’s a great format for LatAm, which is a market that really likes reality TV. This is a format that’s all the villains from all these different reality shows getting together.”

“We also came here to talk about the success of Top Chef VIP. It had two very successful seasons on Telemundo and will return for a third. And it has just launched on Chilevision in Chile. We’ve never done Top Chef as a daily show but we think this is a great format given the way people like to watch TV in Latin America,” she said.

“The other highlight for us is our brilliant scripted catalog,” added Albertina Marfil, Director Format Sales and Production at NBCUniversal Formats USA. “We have many shows from NBC, Peacock, USA and Bravo, and we are finding new opportunities.”

“LatAm and US Hispanic is a market that was traditionally very set on originals, but with the challenges of recent times and economic crisis, they are looking to explore things that have proven success, with high-quality scripts,” she said, highlighting brands like Suits, Good Girls, House, Amsterdam.

“We are really having very interesting conversations, seeing opportunities for the scripted slate, both drama and comedy,” she concluded.
