The group is present in Lisbon with a catalog led by the dramas The Maid’s Daughters, The Girl, Dreams of Freedom, Father There Is Only One, and Between Lands.

Internationally recognized for the quality of its original Spanish dramas, Atresmedia Sales is present at Content Europe, which is taking place this week at the Marriott Hotel in Lisbon, to present its new releases and premieres to the European market.

Leading the catalog is The Maid’s Daughters, a series based on the bestseller by Sonsoles Ónega, a production of Buendía Estudios Canarias with the participation of Atresmedia.

The eight-episode series is set in Galicia in 1900. Two girls, Clara and Catalina, were born in the Espiritu Santo manor house. Clara is the daughter of the maid, Renata, while Catalina is the daughter of the Valdés family, Don Gustavo and Doña Inés. An unexpected revenge will shake up the lives of these girls and this will force Doña Inés to survive heartbreak and the pain of abandonment. She will also have to survive the power struggles to make her true daughter the heir to an empire, in an era when women were not allowed to be the masters of their own lives.

The group also presents The Girl, a co-production of Buendía Estudios Canarias and Diagonal (Banijay Iberia) with the participation of Atresmedia, which premiered this April simultaneously on Atresplayer Internacional and Disney+.

It is a loose adaptation of the third novel of the same name in Carmen Mola’s saga, following the enormous success of The Gypsy Bride and The Purple Network.

Months after the events of The Purple Network, the hunt is not over. After Lucas’ death, Elena Blanco has disappeared. Only Maríajo knows her whereabouts, keeping it a secret even from the rest of the team. The fight against La Red took too much from her, and in a desperate attempt to regain control of her life, she left the BAC behind. But violence never leaves loose ends, and when a new discovery shakes the board, she has no choice but to return and coming back means facing everything she tried to leave behind.

In addition, Atresmedia presents the return of Dreams of Freedom, an Atresmedia production in collaboration with Diagonal (Banijay Iberia), which, with three seasons, has established itself as one of the most-watched series on Spanish television.

Begoña Montes is the new wife of Jesús de la Reina, son of the owner of a major beauty products company. The series begins with her, a young mother, running through the forest with her stepdaughter Julia while her husband chases them with a rifle in hand. What could have happened? It’s the year 1958. Jesús, the heir to Perfumerías de la Reina, is a controlling, jealous, ambitious, and unscrupulous man. Things worsen with the arrival of Andrés, his brother, who returns to help and protect his father, Damián, suspecting that his ambitious brother would do anything to take control of the company. Jesús de la Reina’s desperation will even lead him to mistreat his wife Begoña. Meanwhile, she will gradually fall in love with Andrés, further provoking the wrath of her husband.

The catalog also includes the series Father There Is Only One, a Bowfinger International Pictures production in association with Sony Pictures International Productions, and with the participation of Atresmedia and Prime Video.

The story introduces us to Helena and Mateo, a married couple with five children whose lives take a 180-degree turn when Helena is offered her dream job at the tech company Conchy. The decision is made: the whole family moves to a new city. Mateo, brimming with confidence but lacking common sense, gives up his professional career to take care of the children. His initial mantra is simple: “this can’t be that hard.” However, reality will soon prove him wrong. While Helena struggles to stand out in her new role, the five siblings conspire against the change. Unhappy with the move and longing for their previous life, they devise plans to sabotage this new family chapter and return to their hometown.

Finally, the Spanish group presents Between Lands, an original series from Atresmedia, produced in collaboration with Boomerang TV.

Maria decides to sacrifice herself for her family and agrees to marry a rich landowner who comes to her village looking for a wife in exchange for the welfare and future of her widowed mother and siblings. She leaves behind her land, her family and the promise of a love that has gone to Germany and has not yet returned. What María ignores is that the wedding between her and the mature landowner is by proxy and the one she is really marrying is his nephew, Manuel. In the second season, the story takes place 20 years later. María continues fighting to keep the Cervantes land alive. She must adapt to the new times and keep striving to empower herself in an era when she cannot be completely free. Family conflicts and impossible love continue in life of Maria during a moment of social transformation that greatly impacts the rural world.
