As one of the highlights of its Mipcom slate, Beta Film will present the world premiere of Queen Silvia. The premiere will take place at Cannes’ Grand Auditorium.
Queen Silvia is a six-episode series inspired by the love story between Sweden’s Queen Silvia and King Carl XVI Gustaf. The series will have its world premiere in Cannes as part of the international market’s program.
Produced by Pyjama Pictures (Germany) and Unlimited Stories (Sweden) for Prime Video in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic countries, as well as SAT.1 in Germany, the series is directed by Miguel Alexandre and stars Alicia von Rittberg and Edvin Endre.
Beta Film arrives at Mipcom 2026 with new acquisitions and an international slate combining upcoming productions with established titles from its catalog. The company has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the Italian series The Man from Milan and the Ukrainian drama Silent Nava, which will make its international market debut in Cannes.
The Man from Milan is an eight-episode Italian crime series produced by Cross Productions and RAI Fiction, in association with Beta Film. Directed by Simone Spada, the series follows a notorious criminal who enters a rehabilitation program as a path to freedom, only to discover that escaping his own past will be his greatest challenge. The cast includes Alessandro Tedeschi, Vittoria Puccini and Alberto Astorri.
Meanwhile, Silent Nava, also comprising eight episodes, is Ukraine’s first true-crime series and is produced by Sfera Film for KYIVSTAR TV. Directed by Dmytro Andriyanov, the series follows a criminal investigation in a society shaped by corruption and institutional complicity. Oleksandr Rudynskyi, Anastasiia Pustovit and Andrii Saminin lead the cast.
Beta Film’s slate also includes Blindspot Berlin, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and explores the investigation leading up to the 2016 Berlin Christmas market attack; The Panini Family – Album of Dreams, a period drama from Indigo Film and RAI Fiction about the origins of the iconic Panini albums; and Portobello, Marco Bellocchio’s series based on the true story of Italian television host Enzo Tortora.
Also part of the lineup is In Vitro – The Creation of Happiness, a Spanish production from Moiré Films, Rodar y Rodar, Bullfrog Pictures, 3Cat and HBO Max, directed by Marc Crehuet and starring Bruna Cusí.
Among its returning titles, Beta Film will present the fifth and final season of Babylon Berlin, set in January 1933 following Adolf Hitler’s appointment as Chancellor of Germany. The series has been distributed in more than 140 territories.
The company will also bring the ninth season of Hudson & Rex to Cannes, bringing the franchise to 134 hours of content, as well as the second season of Bookish, created by and starring Mark Gatiss, and the final season of El Immortal, a Movistar Plus+, Telemundo International Studios and DLO Producciones production inspired by the story of Madrid’s Los Miami gang.
