Patrick Delany will become Chief Operating Officer, Alex Gersh joins as Chief Financial Officer and Darren Waterman takes on the newly created role of Chief Business Officer.
DAZN has announced a reshuffle of its executive leadership team as the company enters its next phase of growth. Patrick Delany will become Chief Operating Officer (COO), Alex Gersh will take over as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), while Darren Waterman will move into the newly created role of Chief Business Officer (CBO).
All three executives will report directly to DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev, with the changes effective immediately.
In his new role, Delany will oversee DAZN’s day-to-day management and commercial strategy, including pricing, sports rights, production and advertising. He brings more than 30 years of industry experience and has served as CEO of Foxtel Group since 2018, where he led the integration of the business following its acquisition by DAZN.
Alex Gersh will take over as CFO following Waterman’s move out of the role. He brings more than 25 years of financial leadership experience, having held senior positions at companies including Sportradar, Betfair and Paddy Power Betfair. During his tenure at Sportradar, he was also involved in the company’s Nasdaq IPO.
Waterman, meanwhile, will remain closely involved in DAZN’s expansion strategy as Chief Business Officer. In his new position, he will oversee strategic partnerships, commercial opportunities and transformation projects. Waterman has served as CFO since 2022 and has played a key role in the company’s international expansion.
The leadership changes come after a period of significant growth for DAZN. The company achieved profitability for the first time in 2025, following the acquisition and integration of Foxtel Group, and has since expanded its footprint through the acquisitions of ViewLift and EverPass, as well as the addition of FIFA+ to its ecosystem.
The company is also making changes to its regional leadership structure. Alice Mascia will step down as CEO of DAZN DACH at the end of the year. Felix Krause will return as Deputy CEO and take over leadership of the DACH region from January 1, 2027.
With the new structure, DAZN aims to strengthen its operational and financial leadership as it continues to expand its portfolio of sports content, rights, technology and services across the global sports streaming market.
