The local adaptation will be produced by OGM Pictures and premiere on Star TV.

Star TV will be the first screen in Turkey to premiere the local adaptation of the Israeli drama, Shtisel.

Distributed internationally by Dori Media Group, the drama’s Turkish version will be produced by OGM Pictures.

The original Israeli series was produced by Abot Hameiri and premiered on Yes in 2013, and explores the life of an ultraorthodox family living in Jerusalem.

The show is into its third season, which aired in 2021 on Yes, while rights to the original have been acquired by Netflix in the US, France, and Sweden.

Nadav Palti, CEO & president of DMG, said the deal showed “how audiences from all backgrounds, be they Muslim or Jewish, or anyone else for that matter, can relate to the same family values and often fraught dynamics, significance of tradition, ceremony of food, portrayed in Shitsel.”
