A full agenda of meetings, presentations, and even a celebratory party marked another fast-paced Mipcom for Kanal D International.

The Turkish distributor made its way to Cannes to present its slate of new Turkish films and dramas, led by its latest release, Sins and Roses.

“We are here in Cannes at Mipcom, presenting this premiere that has everything it needs to become a hit in Turkey,” Duda Perman, Sales Manager for Latin America at Kanal D International, began in a conversation with ttvnews. “It premiered on Kanal D last Saturday, and this week will be the second episode. It premiered at the same time as a sporting event and also had very good ratings. We expect it to have even higher ratings in the coming weeks.”

“It’s a classic drama story, with intrigue, betrayal, and everything our Latam audience loves. I’m sure it will be an excellent title for prime time,” she added.

Sins and Roses is produced by NGM, a major Turkish production company that offers great benefits to its partners, the executive explained: “NGM has the characteristic of producing one production per season. They are completely focused on making it the best it can be and are very open to promoting it. They make studio visits, behind-the-scenes visits, and they provide additional materials to promote the premiere.”

“The protagonists were here at Mipcom yesterday, and we had a cocktail party with them that evening. These are actions that support us and bring us closer to clients in other regions like Latin America,” she added.

Indeed, the stars of the hit drama, Murat Yıldırım and Cemre Baysel, participated in the closing cocktail party on the first day of the event to share time with clients and colleagues. They also visited the company’s spectacular stand, located on the R8 floor of the Palais des Festivals, where more than twenty executives work.

Looking ahead at Mip Cancun, KDI will be presenting Sins & Roses, along with other new titles from the group, complemented by series from its powerful catalog that adapt to the limited budgets in Latin America.

“We will present these titles in Cancun, but due to the economic situation in the Latin American region, titles from our library are doing very well, such as Fatmagul and Forbidden Love. They are classic titles that always work. Right now, we have Time Goes By (Tormenta de Pasiones) on Caracol, and they are happy and satisfied. It’s a classic novel, with all the drama elements that audiences like.”

“Kanal D has the advantage of having many options. New releases and its very powerful library, which is perfect for this time of tighter budgets. Both options are very strong,” she concluded.
