First presented at Mipcom 2023, Mediahub’s newest Turkish drama, Alaca, has now finished filming and is almost ready to find new partners in the international market.

“We’ve recently completed its production and now have just a little post-production left”, said Elif Turna, director of Sales and Business Development for Europe and America at Mediahub.

“Alaca is a drama we’ve been working very hard on, to create a story with all the perfect elements of a Turkish drama. With Emrah’s experience we were able to investigate and put together all the must-haves in Turkish telenovelas: love triangles, love and hate relationships, revenge… so we have very good faith in Alaca,” she added.

Alaca (125 x 42′), follows the story of a young village girl who, with an old lover divided between loyalties, a ruthless father who seeks his own benefit and a wound that will remain with her forever, must embark on a search for the truth that will take her to Istanbul. Oblivious to the fact that the people closest to her hold the keys to her past, Alaca must uncover the truth behind the heinous crime that changed her life forever.

“Following Alaca, we are sure there will be a lot more to produce this year”, the executive explained. “We have a very good team who are driving to create successful dramas. In the upcoming phase, we will be announcing two more drama series. Hopefully one will be announced later this year. We are targeting to launch it in the summer. The other one we are still in the planning phase”, she revealed.

“For now, our main focus is traditional Turkish stories in order to feed the appetite of audiences in Latin America. Drama has been proven successful many times so we are sticking to dramatic elements”, she concluded.
