The arrival in Uruguay marks the telenovela’s first launch in another Latin American country.
As it enters its final stretch in Brazil, Anything Goes premiered this week in Uruguay, marking its first launch in another Latin American country. The telenovela debuted in the country through an agreement with Teledoce, one of the leading free-to-air channels in the region and a Globo partner for over 40 years.
On its premiere episode in Uruguay, Anything Goes led its time slot among the commercial target audience (ages 18 to 44). Storylines like Pantanal, Never Give Up, Hidden Truths, and Land of Desire have already been shown to Uruguayan audiences through the partnership between the two companies.
“We’re happy to bring this story to new audiences in Latin America. Teledoce is one of our oldest partners, which shows a genuine connection between Uruguayan viewers and our content. I’m sure they’ll embrace Anything Goes with the same enthusiasm as the Brazilian audience,” says Pablo Ghiglione, Head of International Sales & Co-Productions – Americas & APAC.
Airing in Globo’s prime time and available on Globoplay, Anything Goes has once again found success in Brazil with this new version that reimagines the original 1980s classic. The production is a hit across all screens: since its premiere, more than 143 million Brazilians have watched the show, making it the most-watched telenovela in the history of Globo’s streaming platform.
Anything Goes has also made a strong impact online, with over two million mentions on social media and the hashtag #ValeTudo topping Brazil’s trending topics for 200 hours over the course of its 100 episodes. Additionally, it is Globo’s highest-grossing primetime production in Brazil, with 16 brands featured in 76 content integrations.
As part of TV Globo’s 60th anniversary celebrations, the new version of Anything Goes revives one of the greatest classics of Brazilian television drama, originally aired in 1988 and written by Gilberto Braga, Aguinaldo Silva, and Leonor Bassères. The 2025 adaptation is written by Manuela Dias (A Mother’s Love, Justice) and directed by Paulo Silvestrini (Brazil Avenue). The story continues to resonate with audiences by exploring themes such as ethics, ambition, and honesty through the turbulent relationship between a mother and daughter with opposing worldviews.
