The channel will debut in Puerto Rico through WIPR before expanding to other US markets.

HITN Media announced at Mipcom 2026 the launch of Vida y Salud, a new Spanish-language linear television network operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, focused on health and wellness. Puerto Rico will be the first market to receive the channel through WIPR, ahead of a broader rollout across additional affiliated stations in the United States.

Initially, the network will be available through HITN Media’s digital platforms, HITN-Go and VidaySalud.com. A few weeks later, Vida y Salud will launch in Puerto Rico on WIPR’s channel 6.3, which is also carried by Liberty Cable. WIPR will become the network’s first local affiliate, with a potential reach of more than 1.3 million households.

The programming lineup will focus on preventive healthcare, nutrition, physical activity, emotional well-being and healthy lifestyles, delivering Spanish-language content tailored to the needs of Hispanic communities.

“Hispanic families deserve reliable, practical health information and services in their own language,” said Michael D. Nieves, president and CEO of HITN Media. He noted that the television launch will extend the brand’s reach, bringing health guidance to more people while connecting audiences with additional resources and services to support their well-being.

The new channel will expand the Vida y Salud media ecosystem, which already includes a digital platform, newsletters, social media content, television programming blocks and live events. The brand also plans to introduce new digital health tools, including a personal health management portal and live consultations with health and wellness specialists.

The expansion will create new commercial opportunities for advertisers and sponsors across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, insurance, personal care, nutrition, baby products, chronic disease management and pet care. Vida y Salud also plans to broaden its offering to include telehealth services and medical prescriptions.

Vida y Salud enters a new phase of growth

Founded by Dr. Aliza Lifshitz, widely known as Doctora Aliza, Vida y Salud was created to strengthen the relationship between Hispanic patients and healthcare professionals while promoting access to clear, reliable medical information in Spanish. Lifshitz devoted much of her professional career to health education within Hispanic communities and spent more than two decades as a recognized expert on Spanish-language television.

HITN Media has managed and expanded the brand since 2018 as the flagship of its health and wellness initiatives. In 2026, the organization acquired Vida y Salud and assumed full control of its assets, paving the way for a new phase of growth and expansion.

With the launch of the 24/7 television network, HITN Media is strengthening its strategy to make reliable health and wellness information more accessible to Hispanic audiences in their own language. The organization currently reaches more than 35 million US households through its Spanish-language television signal.
