The companies have introduced a new leadership structure, establishing a single group-wide management board, led by Meijs.
Talpa Studios and Talpa Network introduce a refined leadership structure from March 2, 2026, establishing a single group-wide management board while both companies continue to operate independently.
The new structure strengthens momentum, innovation and efficiency across the entire content value chain.
As part of this next phase, Maarten Meijs has been appointed to lead the group-wide management board, overseeing strategy and long-term development across Talpa Studios and Talpa Network.
Joost Brakel will conclude his role as CEO of Talpa Network following a transition period.
Talpa Network is one of the Netherlands’ leading media groups, operating across television, radio, digital platforms and production. Its portfolio includes national TV channels such as SBS6, NET5 and Veronica, the AVOD platform KIJK, major radio brands and a strong production and distribution infrastructure. Together, these platforms provide scale, daily audience reach and a strong creative environment for developing and launching new content.
Under the refined structure, Talpa Studios and Talpa Network continue to operate independently, each with their own management and creative responsibility. Group-wide leadership brings clearer strategic alignment and faster decision-making across the organisation, strengthening the full content journey — from development and launch to distribution and international scale. Alongside this, Talpa Studios continues to work closely with creative and strategic partners, ensuring ideas are developed with both local relevance and international potential in mind.
The sharpened strategy places video and audio content, format creation and international scalability at its core. The Netherlands is widely recognised as one of the world’s most innovative format markets, and Talpa Studios has consistently demonstrated how ideas developed locally can succeed internationally.
With global hit The Floor — now sold to more than 30 territories worldwide — Talpa Studios has firmly established its international track record. Alongside this success, formats such as The Quiz With Balls, The Tribute: Battle of the Bands and Caught In The Middle all originated on SBSFormats such as The Quiz With Balls, The Tribute: Battle of the Bands and Caught In The Middle all originated on SBS6 in the Netherlands and went on to travel internationally, reinforcing the Dutch market’s reputation for bold ideas. Just recently launched, Caught In The Middle secured its first international commission ahead of its Dutch premiere, underlining how quickly formats can scale from local success to global rollout. This reflects Talpa Studios’ broader strength in developing and producing formats for a wide range of broadcasters and streamers, both within and beyond Talpa Network.
Within the new leadership structure, the group-wide management board is led by Maarten Meijs (CEO), working closely with Guy Vossen (CFO), Barry Masclee (COO) and Carlijn Oosterik (CHRO).
Maarten Meijs brings extensive experience in content, media strategy and organisational leadership: “Talpa Studios and Talpa Network combine strong local media brands, exceptional creative talent and proven international format expertise. By aligning our leadership at group level, we build on a strong foundation while creating greater clarity and focus – fully respecting the independence of our individual companies. This allows us to move faster, make bolder choices and further strengthen our creative and international impact. The Netherlands remains a powerful springboard for new ideas, where great ideas can evolve into globally successful formats.”
