With more than 25 years of experience, the executive has previously worked in companies such as Endemol Shine Mexico and US Hispanic.

The management division at Azteca Estudios announced the appointment of Mauricio Piccone as commercial director.

“Mauricio has the ideal profile and experience to join us in this new project and lead this new business unit. I welcome him to Azteca Estudios and have full confidence in his ability and experience for this role,” said Patricia Jasin, VP of Azteca Estudios and TV Azteca Internacional.

With more than 25 years in the media, Mauricio Piccone started out making educational videos and documentaries for the US embassy in Mexico. In 1991 he began producing TV commercials for some of the greatest directors of the day. Years later he began to produce television segments for Dutch TV.

Since the beginning of 2002 he has participated in the greatest successes of the country that have ever been seen, with brands that break paradigms and audience records in Mexico.

In 2010, once the offices of Endemol Shine Mexico and the US Hispanic merged, he was sent to Miami to oversee both territories.

During the following years, he managed to make the Endemol US Hispanic office the benchmark for entertainment production in the market, with productions such as Mira quien baila, Big brother, Masterchef, Yo me llamo, Que viva and The Chosen One with Marc Anthony and Jennifer López, among others.

In fiction he developed several projects, among them El vato, the first fiction sold by the Hispanic market office and winner of an International Emmy.

The next fiction project was Nicky Jam: el ganador, a success for Netflix that represented the consolidation of the production company.
