The Mediapro Studio announced the start of filming for The Head, a new series which will feature an international cast led by Álvaro Morte.
The Mediapro Studio, Hulu Japan and HBO Asia started filming The Head in Tenerife, a project first announced in 2017 in the framework of the international series Mania forum, held in Paris.
The Canary Islands and Iceland will be the sets for this survival thriller, directed by Jorge Dorado (The Pier, Mindscape), which takes place in one of the most remote places on the planet: Antarctica.
The filming will have an expected duration of 12 weeks and the series will have six episodes of 50 minutes.
The Head was created by Àlex and David Pastor, who worked on the development of the series with Ran Tellem (Homeland), director of International Content Development at The Mediapro Studio. It is the first fiction series of the Pastor Brothers in Spain.
Mediapro also revealed the international cast of the series, which will be headed by Álvaro Morte (Money Heist). He is accompanied by Tomohisa Yamashita (Code Blue), Laura Bach (Sprinter Galore, Rita), Mònica López (Hierro, In the City), Alexandre Willaume (Under the Surface, Deep State, Tomb Raider), Katharine O’Donnelly (Mary, Queen from Scotland), John Lynch (The Terror) and Amelia Hoy (Under the Surface, Killing Eve).
Dialogues will be in English and Danish.

Synopsis:
The series is located at the international Polaris VI station, in Antarctica. A small group of scientists from several countries will be responsible for keeping the base in operation during the long polar night. But in the middle of winter the station stops communicating with the outside and a murderer begins to terrorize the base.
