Already on its second visit to Content Americas, Del Barrio Producciones arrives in Miami with several projects up its sleeve to make 2024 a better year than 2023.

“I think that we are living this 2024 with a lot of hope, because the setbacks and obstacles that we had in 2023 are being left behind, such as the screenwriters’ strike that affected LatAm,” said Michelle Alexander, CEO and Content Director of Del Barrio Productions.

“There are many ideas and projects that were put on hold, and now we are going out to make them a reality. More will be produced this year,” she added, highlighting the importance of drama, as well as comedy, a genre that the production company will bet more heavily on this year.

In this sense, Del Barrio came to Content Americas in search of co-producing partners for two comedy series with great potential: “We are meeting with other producers to seek to co-produce a couple of comedy series that talk about positive masculinity,” the executive revealed.

The comedies join two other major projects from the production company, including a film in development with Kapw in Argentina and a “terrific” series with VIP 2000 TV. “That, in addition to our association with Tondero Distribución, which sells all of our telenovelas that are made for América TV.”

“These first days have gone well for us and we hope to be able to reach some agreements,” she concluded.
