The second day of Mipcom took place at the Palais de Festivals, with a greater influx of attendees and several highlights, such as the premiere of Star Trek: Prodigy, market screenings and a first-rate conference agenda.

The second day of Mipcom was lived at a better pace than ever. With the corridors of the Palais experiencing its best moment since its last edition, it’s likely that it will soon regain its shine.

While there are several players missing and the number of participants is nothing like what it was, the spirit, and the news of content production and distribution, speak for themselves.

For several of those present, being here is also about identifying new opportunities, as pointed out by Patricio Hernández, general manager of Latina TV in Peru: “We are seeing content providers that we have never seen before and this for us is a huge opportunity to find fresh and innovative content”.

In some cases, it is precisely a matter of showing that there are new opportunities.

“Turkey is a hub and gateway to all of Eastern Europe, that is why we are offering our dubbing and subtitling services and we believe that the market will identify the differential advantages we have to offer,” explained Emel Tas from Bella Video Works, a company that works closely with channels such as Discovery or Sony from the Turkish capital.

But when it comes to distribution, there are several players who say they are present to show their content catalog, in a changing context and in full transformation, as highlighted from Argentina by Tomás Darcyl from Telefilms, Sebastian van Barneveld from Talpa Entertainment Productions from Holland, and Izzet Pinto from Turkey’s Global Agency.

And in terms of news, at the end of the day KION was presented, the Russian streaming service that is part of MTS Media

“In such a competitive market as that of VOD platforms in Russia, we intend to build our own offering of Russian films and series in different genres,” explained Igor Mishin, VP of Business Development at MTS and CEO of MTS Media.

Wednesday will feature the winners of the fourth edition of Canneseries, which has been taking place since October 8, along with a full schedule of premieres and series.
