The strategic partnership includes an initial slate of 40 Korean vertical microdrama titles and marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration to represent and license premium short-form content across the Americas.
Panea, the U.S.-based streaming platform serving Spanish-speaking audiences across the United States and Latin America, today announced a strategic partnership with Korean production company Content SERO to expand the international reach of Korean vertical storytelling.
The initial collaboration includes a slate of 40 Korean vertical microdrama titles and marks the beginning of a broader long-term collaboration between the two companies.
As mobile entertainment continues to evolve worldwide, vertical storytelling has emerged as one of the fastest-growing formats in digital entertainment. Korean creators have been at the forefront of this movement, producing highly engaging serialized stories specifically designed for mobile viewing.
Through this partnership, Panea will serve as the licensing and distribution partner for the titles across the Americas, working with streaming platforms and content partners throughout the region.
The initial slate spans multiple genres, including romance, comedy, fantasy, and youth-oriented stories, showcasing the diversity and creativity of Korean short-form entertainment while appealing to the growing global demand for premium mobile-first content.
One of the featured projects in the collaboration is Up Key Girl, a six-season animated short-form series inspired by the world of K-pop. Each season consists of 50 episodes running approximately two minutes each. The series is scheduled to premiere this August across 9 Southeast Asian countries and territories, including Thailand and the Philippines, before expanding internationally.
The partnership comes at a time when vertical storytelling and mobile-first entertainment are still in the early stages of global adoption, creating significant opportunities for creators, platforms, and distribution partners looking to participate in the next generation of digital entertainment.
“We believe vertical storytelling represents one of the most exciting opportunities in global entertainment today,” said Sebastian Choy, CEO of Panea. “Through our partnership with Content SERO, we are building bridges between innovative creators and new audiences while continuing our mission of bringing exceptional stories from around the world to viewers across the Americas.”
Content SERO has established itself as one of Korea’s emerging leaders in premium short-form entertainment, producing and distributing high-quality vertical content while developing original intellectual property for both domestic and international audiences.
“Korean stories continue to resonate with audiences around the world, and we believe vertical storytelling represents one of the next great opportunities in global entertainment. Through our partnership with Panea, we look forward to introducing our stories to new audiences across the Americas while creating long-term opportunities for the international growth of Korean short-form content,” said Ted Jeong, CEO of Content SERO.
Beyond the initial slate, both companies plan to explore additional opportunities for collaboration, including future content partnerships, original productions, and initiatives that support the continued international growth of Korean short-form entertainment.
