Warner Bros. ITVP Spain teamed up with Aitor Gabilondo’s producer, showrunner of series such as Patria, El príncipe or Vivir sin permiso, to develop “two ambitious fiction series”.

The television producer Warner Bros. ITVP Spain and one of the most important fiction creators in Spain, the showrunner Aitor Gabilondo, together with his production company Alea Media, have signed a collaboration agreement through which they will jointly develop two ambitious television series .

Gabilondo will exercise the work of showrunner and will be at the forefront of the creative decisions for the two projects.

Through his production company Alea Media (owned by Mediterráneo Mediaset Spain), Gabilondo has written and produced Patria, the long-awaited adaptation of Fernando Aramburu’s best-seller of the same name and the first HBO Europe series in Spanish.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. ITVP Spain has recently released En casa on HBO Spain, an anthological series in which five film directors have created and directed, since confinement, their own episode on the quarantine caused by the coronavirus.

“This agreement clearly shows our commitment to quality products, talent and the stories we create with enormous potential,” said Sebastián Moguilevsky, CEO of Warner Bros. ITVP Spain and Portugal.

“The fact that a professional like Aitor Gabilondo has agreed to embark with us on these projects, through his production company Alea Media, is a gift,” he assured.

Aitor Gabilondo stated that “this collaboration with Warner is a satisfaction and a great opportunity for Alea Media to continue growing and expanding, since I think that it is one of the great players in creation at an international level and it will be even more”.

“These projects are a very stimulating challenge for me as a writer and I thank Sebastián and his entire team for thinking of me,” the showrunner finished.
