Fernando Medin, president and GM for LatAm and US Hispanic, announced the executives who will lead the group’s different business divisions in the region.

In the last hours, WarnerBros Discovery announced the new leadership team for Latin America and US Hispanic.

Fernando Medin, president and GM for Latin America and US Hispanic, made the announcement in an internal memo for the company.

“I want to start off by thanking all of you for your dedication and focus to ensure the continuity of our businesses, as I am well aware of the uncertainty and anxiety that all these organizational changes can generate”, he said.

“My focus over the past few weeks has been to meet with the Latam/USH leaders, so I could make informed decisions on the best leadership structure for WBD LA/USH, based on the principles of being agile, efficient and locally relevant, while being able to capture the growth and potential that our region presents”.

“It has not been an easy task, as the level of the people in both legacy teams is incredible, along with their experience, passion and commitment. Decisions like this are never easy… It is always very hard to let go of extremely talented colleagues and friends that contributed enormously to the success of each of our businesses”.

This is the new leadership team for WBD Latin America and US Hispanic:

Tomas Yankelevich will lead the content teams across our brand portfolio of general entertainment, factual and lifestyle.

Pablo Zuccarino will lead our kids content division, reporting to Michael Ouweleen (president of Cartoon Network and Adult Swim) and me.

“I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank Carolina Lightcap for the incredible job she has done over the years, having contributed enormously to the success of Discovery’s portfolio and brands, making Discovery’s flagship networks the leaders in their segments in the region, and developing remarkable kids content, including the creation of Discovery Kids Media. She will remain with us during a transition period”, the executive said.

Vera Buzanello is appointed as head of revenue (affiliates and ad sales) for Latam/USH and country manager of Brazil. With that, after a transition period Anna Andrade will be departing WBD. I want to thank her for her commitment and dedication. Anna spent two decades with HBO before leading pan-regional clients distribution sales for WM, including a key role in locking in HBO Max deals. She also served as country manager for WM Brazil and led the company during the launch of HBO Max and several hit shows.

Jorge Carey will exclusively focus on CNN Chile and I would like to thank him for his strategic thinking and leadership on WM Affiliate Sales over the past few years.

Felipe de Stefani is appointed to the position of country manager for Argentina, leaving his role with the panregional ad sales team for WM’s multiplatform brand portfolio.

Gustavo Minaker is appointed to the position of country manager for Chile and to that he will add another role, soon to be announced.

“I want to thank Guillermo Delfino for his service as Discovery’s country manager of Southern Cone, including a strong presence in Chile through our investment in Mega. Guillermo has had a distinguished tenure at Discovery, successfully leading the company during many changes in the industry, managing to grow and develop the business in the region. Guillermo will leave the company after a transition period”, he said.

Marcela Doria will lead the data insights team, providing the information we need to succeed with our products. Lissette Valdes-Brito will be departing after a transition period.

Patricia Jasin will manage ITVD (International TV Distribution) and is appointed country manager for Colombia. I want to thank Adrian Monsalve for the period he served as Discovery’s acting CM in Colombia. Adrian will now be exclusively in charge of Strategy.

Octavio Pedroza will lead Home Entertainment and Games for Latin America.

The leadership team of Latin America / US Hispanic will be composed of the executives listed above along with the executives of corporate functions (P&C, Finance, Comms, Legal, Operations, Technology and Corp Development, Theatrical and Consumer Products), already announced (this information can be found on WBD Connect) or soon to be announced by their respective global structures.

“I am truly excited with this team and the future of the company. From the combined strengths of our legacy businesses we are building an organization that has no equal in our region. In the coming weeks, this leadership team will focus on forming the teams for each of the countries and departments. We will do our best to make this process as agile and thoughtful as possible, always maintaining the commitment of building a diverse workforce and well balanced representation of both legacy companies. I look forward to starting this new era for our company and ourselves”, he concluded.
