Gangnam Project, distributed by Federation Kids & Family, has secured new international sales through agreements across multiple territories.

Federation Studios and Federation Kids & Family announced a new wave of international deals for Gangnam Project, the youth dramedy inspired by the global K-pop phenomenon, further strengthening its worldwide footprint following the success of its first two seasons.

Among the most notable agreements, Netflix acquired Season 1 for multiple territories worldwide, where it has been available since January 30, 2026. In Latin America, Globo picked up the first season for Brazil.

Season 2 has been acquired by Super RTL for Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, as well as by Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Australia and NRK in Norway, following the strong reception of the first season.

In addition, both seasons were acquired by Dreamia in Portugal, RTS in Switzerland, and EITB in the Basque Country, Spain. Previously, the series had also been licensed to France TV in France, YLE in Finland, Radio-Canada and TFO in Canada, while TV3 Group had acquired Season 1 for the Baltic region.

Co-commissioned by CBC Kids and CBBC, Gangnam Project currently spans two seasons with a total of 20 half-hour episodes. The series is produced by Pillango Productions and Aircraft Pictures, with financial backing from Shaw Rocket Fund and Canada Media Fund. Its creator, Sarah Haasz, serves as showrunner and executive producer.

Set in South Korea, the series follows Hannah Shin, a Canadian-Korean teenager who dreams of becoming a K-pop star while reconnecting with her roots. Her journey to a prestigious music training academy in Korea leads her to uncover family secrets, face unexpected challenges, and discover a new chance to pursue her artistic ambitions.

“As the K-pop phenomenon continues to expand globally, we are thrilled to bring this gem of a series to our buyers, especially as demand keeps growing. It is also fantastic to see broadcasters quickly embracing a second season,” said Monica Levy, Co-Chief of Distribution at Federation Kids & Family.
