It is a training program for aspiring producers from the Latinx community in the US, which will provide active and practical learning, and the opportunity to work for these large media groups.

The National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) in the US announced, within the framework of the NALIP Media Summit, an alliance with Disney, Amblin Partners, Starz and the MPA to launch Latino Lens, an initiative designed to shape and nurture the next generation of executive producers.

The NALIP program will accept up to 12 participants in its first year, and will offer eight weeks of active, hands-on learning, as well as training from a variety of active producers.

Incubator participants will be exposed to the film and television business divisions, and the world of distribution, and learn about the mechanics behind how content producers work. Following their time on the program, four participants will receive the opportunity for a six-month paid scholarship at Disney, Amblin Partners and Starz.

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with The Walt Disney Company, MPA, Amblin Partners and Starz, who share a common goal of achieving inclusive storytelling that is globally viable,” said NALIP CEO Benjamin Lopez.

“We are proud of the tremendous support we have received to help ensure that historically underrepresented communities develop, identify and contribute to the development of intellectual property. Through the Producers Pipeline Incubator, we hope not only to identify the next generation of decision makers, but to continue to support them as they navigate the entertainment ecosystem.”
