Leading executives from Amazon Studios, Blim TV, Filmin, Movistar+, Netflix, StarzPlay, Telemundo Streaming Studios, ViacomCBS International Studios and WarnerMedia will discuss their development and production strategies at the event.

As part of a fundamental pillar of the Iberseries Platino Industria conference program, executives from the largest national entertainment companies and their studios will reveal their creative approaches and strategies to develop, finance and produce content that resonates both globally and locally, as well as the possible alliances and work synergies between the teams in Latin America and Spain, within the exclusive sessions “Conversations with platforms and their studios” in PRO Activities, which will take place at the Matadero Madrid facilities, the official headquarters of Iberseries Platino Industria.

Conversation with Verónica Fernández and Roberto Stopello from Netflix

Verónica Fernández, Director of Content for Netflix in Spain, and Roberto Stopello, Vice President of Content for Netflix in Latin America, will address what they understand by creativity, the relevance of storytelling, the way of working on both sides of the ocean, the importance of inclusion in front of and behind the camera, and the power of telling local stories for global audiences.

Conversation with Laura Abril from ViacomCBS International Studios

Laura Abril, Head of ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) EMEA & Asia and SVP of all ViacomCBS Networks brands for the southern European, Middle Eastern and Asian markets, will talk about VIS’s successes in producing original content in Latin America and Spain and sales in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, which includes agreements with key figures in the industry, including talent, production companies, broadcasters, streamers, among others. Likewise, she will discover us how is the planning of ViacomCBS International Studios for the development, production and execution of projects for its own brands and platforms and for third parties.

Conversation with Juan Ponce from Telemundo Streaming Studios

Also participating will be Juan Ponce, SVP & General Manager of Telemundo Streaming Studios, who previously held the position of vice president of operations and production at Telemundo Global Studios and vice president of strategy and corporate development at NBCU Telemundo Enterprises. In the session, Ponce will reveal what his editorial and business objectives are for Spain, Latin America and the US Hispanic, and what alliances can be generated with them.

Conversation with Alejandro Amenábar and Domingo Corral from Movistar+

The filmmaker Alejandro Amenábar, who has just directed his first series, the super production La Fortuna, will talk with Domingo Corral, Director of Original Production of Movistar+, an area dedicated to the development of series and films aimed at promoting the fiction offer of the Telefónica platform. Using the La Fortuna series as an example, Alejandro Amenábar and Domingo Corral will discuss how creative dynamics are nurtured, what is the next step in storytelling, how the best stories are sought and materialized.

Conversation with Miguel Salvat and Marcelo Tamburri from WarnerMedia

Miguel Salvat, VP Commissioning Editor Original Programming HBO Spain, and Marcelo Tamburri, Head of Scripted Content Development at WarnerMedia Latin America, will share future production plans and the keys behind the creation of original WarnerMedia series for their HBO Max platform and the rest of its entertainment brands. Salvat and Tamburri will discuss the prospects for common goals and synergies between Latin America and Spain and their creative approaches to developing stories that have an impact both locally and globally.

Conversation with Vanesa Rosas, Jaume Ripoll and Mireia Acosta from Blim TV, Filmin and StarzPlay

Senior executives from different platforms will bring to the table in the panel ‘New production models’, if original production is essential and how to address the challenges and opportunities of a global industry in constant evolution. Mireia Acosta, Development Director of StarzPlay (Spain); Vanessa Rosas, Chief Operating Officer of Televisa Blim TV (Mexico), with more than 20 years of experience in the areas of telecommunications, digital and entertainment; and Jaume Ripoll, Co-founder, Editorial and Development Director of Filmin, will explain how they are managing and evolving business models in an increasingly competitive landscape, as well as their approaches to developing, financing and producing content.

Conversation with María José Rodríguez from Amazon Prime Video

María José Rodríguez, Head of Spanish Originals at Amazon Prime Video, will talk about how the company fosters creative freedom and supports creators to carry out their vision and how to produce unique local content with the potential to become global hits, as well as discovering the dynamics for development, production and execution of Amazon Prime Video projects in Spain.

Iberseries Platino Industria, the largest Ibero-American audiovisual event, is an initiative of EGEDA and Fundación Secuoya, which seeks to provide visibility to feature films and fiction series of Ibero-American scope or theme, enhance the talent of creators and promote international co-production as a formula key to consolidating projects.

The first edition of Iberseries Platino Industria will bring together from September 27 to October 1, 2021 the most relevant creators, executives, platforms, televisions and agents of the audiovisual sector in Spanish and Portuguese.
