France Television has acquired the multi-award-winning About Antoine S1 series, according to Alex Avon, VP of Global Distribution at Amuz Distribution. The series will air on France.tv from France Television in spring 2024.

About Antoine is an uplifting story of love and family that triumphs over limitations. With authenticity, sensitivity, and humor, the series tackles a subject rarely explored in fiction: life with a multi-handicapped child.

Inspired by true events, the series was produced by Amuz Distribution’s parent company, ComediHa! Productions, and aired on Quebec’s Club Illico.

Avon said Amuz Distribution is delighted that France.tv is sharing its multi-award-winning About Antoine series with its viewers. “I’m sure this heartfelt series will please French audiences as much as it has in Canada,” he said.

Catherine Gaucher, France.tv’s Director of International Fiction Co-Productions and Acquisitions noted that every year, as part of World Autism Awareness Day, France Télévisions Group is mobilized and committed to highlighting this still little-known neurodevelopmental disorder, which affects about 1 in 100 people.

“On this occasion, France Télévisions is offering special programming to raise awareness among the general public about autism-related issues, including the broadcast on France.tv of the multi-award-winning series About Antoine which tackles this topic with sincerity, accuracy, but also humor,” Gaucher concluded.
