The Spanish version of the successful international format will be seen exclusively on the OTT platform, starting May 30.
Atresplayer Premium announced the premiere of Drag Race Spain, which will hit the OTT platform’s screen on May 30.
It is the Spanish adaptation of the successful international format, which will thus become the first entertainment format on the Spanish SVOD platform.
Drag Race is one of the most internationally recognized television formats in recent times. Its original version has more than 150 million views on YouTube and has more than 3 million followers on Instagram.
The American program, which has won over audiences and critics since its inception in 2009, has also won 19 Emmy Awards and multiple international adaptations such as Chile, Thailand, United Kingdom, Canada and Holland.
The Spanish version will be produced by Atresmedia Televisión in collaboration with Buendía Estudios after having reached an agreement in Spain with Passion Distribuition in favor of WOW (World of Wonder).
Randy Barbato, Fenton Bailey and Tom Campbell are executive producers of World of Wonder.
In Spain the show will be presented by Supremme de Luxe, who has been on stage for more than 20 years. She will be accompanied by a jury made up of Javier Calvo, Javier Ambrossi and fashion designer Ana Locking. In addition, each week there will be an invited jury to help them with their tasks.
The 10 participants are: Arantxa Castilla La Mancha, Carmen Farala, Dovima Nurmi, Drag Vulcano, Hugaceo Crujiente, Inti, Killer Queen, Pupi Poisson, Sagittaria and The Macarena.
