The partnership involves an innovative 360º support pilot project, whereby ODA will assist Banijay Iberia in developing, producing, and communicating the company’s productions

Banijay Iberia becomes the first Gold partner of the Observatory for Diversity in Audiovisual Media (ODA) after closing a collaboration agreement with the non-profit association, through which it confirms its social commitment and its defense of diversity in the audiovisual industry.

This collaboration involves an innovative 360º support pilot project, whereby ODA will offer assistance to Banijay Iberia in developing, producing, and communicating the company’s productions.

In this way, Banijay Iberia will be able to count on ODA as a consultant at all stages of the process, thus ensuring compliance with standards of representation and diversity.

At the same time, as a Gold partner, Banijay Iberia will contribute to ODA to continue analyzing the situation of LGBTIQA+, racialized, disabled, and non-hegemonic bodies in national fiction productions through the publication of two annual reports and the celebration of the ODA Awards. Banijay Iberia will be able to enjoy exclusive benefits such as access to premium analysis, the job bank developed by the Observatory, and workshops tailored to their needs.

Pilar Blasco, CEO of Banijay Iberia, points out that with this agreement they want to take another step forward in their commitment to diversity. “Internally we have working groups, such as Banijay Pride or Banijay Elle, as well as other alliances with associations that promote a better society, but this collaboration with ODA is strategic for everything it entails. For the first time, we offer a practical tool that can help all teams to achieve a better and more tolerant audiovisual”.

Jorge Gonzalo, president and CEO of ODA, said that with this initiative, Banijay Iberia and ODA join forces to demonstrate the importance of accompaniment in the different phases of the audiovisual development process to achieve a media that is truly fairer and more responsible.
