The Italian drama won “Best Returning Scripted Series”, while The Swarm won “Best New Scripted Series”.

Beta Group has celebrated a remarkable night at the Content Innovation Awards, closing out Mipcom 2023 with a double win.

The Italian YA drama The Sea Beyond took home “Best Returning Scripted Series” in the prestigious Grand Auditorium, while the standout production The Swarm won the award for “Best New Scripted Series”.

The Swarm (8x1h, Intaglio Films/ndF IP) was most recently successful at the prestigious German Television Awards, claiming the award for Best Miniseries. Produced by Intaglio Films’ Frank Doelger, ndF IP’s Managing Director Eric Welbers, The Swarm previously achieved phenomenal ratings across Europe, was prime-time winner in several territories and most recently aired in the US the major network The CW.

The Sea Beyond (48x1h) will continue the celebrations at the Rome Film Festival on October 28 with the World Premiere of season 4. The Picomedia and Rai Fiction production centering around a group of young inmates in a Naples youth detention center shattered viewing records on Rai’s streaming service RaiPlay with over 220 million total views and ranked in the Netflix Top 10 for more than 30 weeks in Italy. Currently, the series is airing in the US on MHz Choice.
