The distributor’s Canadian drama has been sold to Spanish network Cosmo, as well as other broadcasters in France, UK and Germany.

Cineflix Rights has closed multiple deals for critically acclaimed Canadian drama Pure to European broadcasters including Paris Premiere (M6 Group, France), Virgin Media for its Virgin Ultra HD Channel (UK), Cosmo (Spain), and Sony’s AXN Channel in Germany.

Pure takes viewers deep inside a closed, secretive subculture through the eyes of a conflicted, good-hearted man trying to protect his family and preserve his faith.

Inspired by true events, Pure is the journey of Noah Funk, a newly-elected Mennonite pastor, who is determined to rid his community of the scourge of drugs and its nefarious ties to a trans-border smuggling alliance with ruthless Mexican cocaine cartels. But just when he thinks he’s won, he and his wife Anna are thrust headlong into a desperate world of violence, greed, and betrayal.

Pure’s cast includes Ryan Robbins (Arrow, Continuum, The Killing), Alex Paxton-Beesley (Murdoch Mysteries, Cardinal, Copper), A.J. Buckley (CSI: NY, SEAL Team, Narcos), Peter Outerbridge (Orphan Black, Bomb Girls, ReGenesis), Oscar® and Golden Globe® nominee, Rosie Perez (White Men Can’t Jump, Fearless), and Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother, American Pie, Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media, said: “With a Breaking Bad meets Witness plotline, Pure’s dark intensity and high-stakes storyline struck a chord with viewers and critics alike in the US and Canada. We’re thrilled that now audiences in Europe will join Noah, Anna, and a cast of compelling characters on a conflicted and perilous journey, wrought with adrenaline-charged twists and turns.”

The deals with Paris Premiere and Cosmo were closed by Sabrina Ayala, SVP Sales, France, Italy, Iberia, and Latin America. The deal with Virgin UK was closed by Sandra Piha, SVP, Sales, Pan-Regional, UK, Eire, and Scandinavia; and the deal with Sony Germany was brokered by Lucinda Gergley-Garner, SVP, Sales, North America and German Speaking Territories.
