Koo will take over from Kang Sung-ho, who will become co-CEO of subsidiary CJ Group.

Korea’s CJ ENM, part of the CJ Group conglomerate, has appointed Koo Chang-gun as its new CEO, taking over from Kang Sung-ho, who will become co-CEO of CJ Group.

“Koo will oversee CJ ENM’s plans for global expansion and accelerate future growth engines to lead a new paradigm in the entertainment industry,” the group said in a statement.

Koo, 50, has made a career within the CJ Group, being the CEO of companies such as CJ Foodville, in 2017, and CJ Oliveyoung, the group’s health and beauty products brand.
