Raised in a humble neighborhood of Istanbul, Iffet is deeply in love with Cemil, a handsome taxi driver with whom she secretly sees, since her father has forbidden her to see any man until she is married. Meanwhile, the young woman dreams of the day when he asks her to marry him to start a family. However, Cemil gives her various excuses for not getting married yet, without sharing her great dream with her: to become rich one day to leave behind the middle-class neighborhood in which he lives.
