With six seasons already completed, the Turkish drama Forbidden Fruit, distributed by Calinos Entertainment in Latin America, is one of the best-performing titles in different countries in the region where it is broadcast, a list that will soon be joined by Argentina, with the upcoming premiere on Telefe under the name Pasión Prohibida.

Duda Rodrigues, sales manager for Latam at Calinos Entertainment, commented to ttvnews during his participation in LA Screenings: “We have Forbidden Fruit now on screen in Puerto Rico, on Wuapa TV, which is in its third season in prime time, but we are up to the sixth season at the moment,” she said.

The executive commented that Pasión Prohibida will premiere on Telefe Argentina very soon. “We don’t know the date, but they are working on a solid campaign in the last three weeks, so surely in early June it will premiere, I imagine in the evening”.

According to Rodrigues, buyers are a bit scared to buy titles with six seasons, but in this case, it is a title that has worked for everyone who buys it. “So I tell my clients that they are not obliged to buy every season, although if it works, it’s a great peace of mind for the programming directors. In the case of Forbidden Fruit, we sell the first two seasons together; if it works, they buy the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth. In all the Latin American countries that bought the first season, they bought all of them, so it is a title that works, and you can buy the seasons one by one, so the risk is not so great,” she concluded.

Forbidden Fruit is a Turkish drama about two sisters, Yildiz and Zeynep, who have a close relationship but have very different personalities and goals in life. Zeynep is a young woman who strictly adheres to her ethical values, aspires to have a successful career, and strives to achieve it. At the same time, Yildiz believes she deserves more and considers that happiness is achieved by marrying a rich man who will save her from her poor life.
