The international distributor has sold over 150 hours of South Korean content from CJ ENM and SBS to the Turkish SVOD platform.

Eccho Rights has completed a deal for more than 150 hours of South Korean content to fill a K-Drama strand for recently launched SVOD platform Exxen in Turkey.

The deal consists of three titles from Eccho’s mother company CJ ENM and four from SBS, as well as the streaming rights to SBS’ 2020 K Pop Festival which features Korea’s biggest global superstars BTS among others.

From CJ ENM, Exxen has licensed romantic dramas Cheese In The Trap and It’s Okay That’S Love, and crime thriller Tunnel.

The SBS titles in the exclusive collection are Giant, Brilliant Legacy, The Inheritors and Pretty Ugly.

“Turkey has been adapting Korean formats for many years now so we know that the storytelling works for Turkish audiences. Therefore it is no surprise that we are now seeing a demand for the original series as readymades as well, and it is a great opportunity for Eccho Rights with our unique links to South Korea,” says Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights.
