Entertainment One (eOne) has entered into an exclusive multi-year first-look deal with prolific award-winning writer, director and producer Paul Andrew Williams (A Confession, Bull). Under the pact, Williams will work closely with Sharon Hughff, eOne’s Creative Director, Scripted Television, UK to develop scripted television series for all platforms spanning broadcast, cable and streaming.

“Paul has proved himself as an exceptional Director and Writer in the UK and beyond. In a career spanning many decades, Paul has effortlessly moved between film and television winning many accolades along the way,” commented Hughff. “Paul is known for his striking, bold, character-driven dramas. His work is uncompromising, distinctive and always has heart and integrity. Working with Paul is absolutely what eOne is about – giving the best filmmakers, writers and creatives a home to create great drama. We are thrilled to be embarking upon this journey with Paul.”

“I am extremely grateful to not only work with such an established and supportive company but to be working with one of the cleverest and most talented people in the industry in Sharon Hughff,” said Williams.  “Sharon and eOne have trusted me and my ambition to create and direct great drama for them, and I hope to repay that trust”

Most recently it was announced that Williams has directed all episodes of limited series The Walk-In starring Stephen Graham and written by Jeff Pope for ITV, premiering in October. Williams is represented by Independent Talent Group and Echo Lake Entertainment.

eOne is committed to expanding its UK development slate of impactful stories for the international market. In February, Hughff joined eOne to oversee the scripted team and pipeline in the UK with a remit to boost the company’s presence in the region by attracting top creatives and to champion bold and diverse stories. Most recently, it was announced that Ewan McGregor (Star Wars franchise, Trainspotting) will lead the cast of the upcoming Paramount+ UK drama series A Gentleman in Moscow, an adaptation of Amor Towles’ best-selling novel produced by eOne in association with Viacom International Studios.
