After launching Azteca Deportes Network as a pay TV channel, TV Azteca is preparing to version it as a FAST channel, with different materials and a refinement of its aesthetics.

“We have already launched the sports channel,” said Fernando Muñiz, director of Distribution and Strategic Alliances at TV Azteca, in dialogue with ttv during the first day of MipCancun. “It is a pay TV channel, for now, and we are making the FAST version, with refined content, exclusive material and a special graphic package.”

During his participation in the panel “Curated & Branded FAST Channels: Reaching Audiences Everywhere”, Muñiz provided other details about TV Azteca’s FAST strategy.

“We started a long time ago with the offer of FAST channels, but we were not focused on it,” he said. “We took pay TV channels and converted them into FAST. “For some time now we did something interesting, because we gave special treatment to the FAST channels.”

“We started with four signs, today we are with nine,” he added. “Starting next year we will have 12 or 13, offering everything. One of the strong bets for next year is the sports channel that will be pan-regional. It will be a very attractive channel with a differential offer.”
