Doctor Portuondo, the first series produced by the Spanish independent platform Filmin, will premiere on the platform next Friday, October 29.

The creator and director Carlo Padial, accompanied by his inseparable screenwriter Carlos de Diego, brings to the screen his acclaimed novel of the same name published by Blackie Books in 2017.

The result is 6 episodes of 25 minutes with autobiographical overtones about the therapy that Padial followed with his peculiar and charismatic Cuban psychoanalyst, Dr. Portuondo (Jorge Perugorría), and that radically changed his life.

In addition, the Iberseries Platino Industria festival will host the world premiere of Doctor Portuondo on September 30 at 5:00 p.m. at the Callao Cinema in Madrid. This premiere will be attended by Carlo Padial, Carlos de Diego, Jorge Perugorría, Nacho Sánchez, Olivia Delcán, Elisabet Casanovas, Arturo Valls and David Pareja.

On the other hand, on Thursday, October 21 at 6:30 p.m., Serielizados Fest (Barcelona) will offer a marathon in which all the episodes of the series will be screened exclusively for the first time.

Cuban actor Jorge Perugorría (Strawberry and chocolate, Winds of Havana) and Nacho Sánchez (The art of returning, Seventeen), who plays Carlo Padial himself, star in this therapeutic comedy whose cast is completed by Olivia Delcán (Vis a vis), Berto Romero (Look what you’ve done), Arturo Valls (Camera Café), David Pareja (Friend) and Elisabet Casanovas (Merlí).
