The first international version of the acclaimed drama Intolerantes is already in production, following a format sales agreement between Alpha TV and Globo. Produced by Primavisione, the local adaptation is directed by Alexandros Avranas.
Created and written by Lucas Paraizo and directed by Luisa Lima, Intolerantes follows two neighboring couples who become embroiled in a conflict after a fight between their teenage children, triggering an escalation of tension with absurd consequences. What begins as a trivial disagreement grows into a broader exploration of how far people can go when dialogue breaks down. In Brazil, the franchise’s success was reinforced by the premiere of its third season this year.
To follow the start of production, writer Lucas Paraizo visited the set in Greece: “I was on the set of the Greek version of Intolerantes, a series I created, and had the pleasure of watching the filming of one of the most important scenes of the first season: the scene in which the characters Cibele and Wando confront each other over their children’s fight. I had the pleasure of witnessing the enthusiasm of the cast, the technical crew and director Alexandros Avranas, whom I have admired since he directed the feature film Miss Violence and won the Best Director award at the 2013 Venice Film Festival. I’m curious to see this new version of the series and I’m sure it will be a success in Greece, as it was in Brazil, countries that have a great deal in common.”
