The Costa Rican creative industries strategist will lead two strategic initiatives focused on strengthening women’s leadership and positioning Spanish-language content in the international audiovisual market.

The Ibero-American Film Commissions Network (Iberofic) announced that Marysela Zamora Villalobos will continue as a member of its Board of Directors, where she will lead two strategic initiatives aimed at advancing the region’s audiovisual industry.

Her agenda will focus on strengthening women’s leadership in the audiovisual sector and increasing the international positioning of Spanish-language content, with the goal of fostering greater cooperation across Ibero-American markets, developing talent, facilitating access to international markets, promoting co-productions and attracting investment.

“I firmly believe that the next great chapter of the audiovisual industry will be written in Spanish,” said Zamora, highlighting the region’s potential to become one of the world’s leading creative engines.

From her position at Iberofic, Zamora will also work on regional collaboration and the creation of new opportunities for the audiovisual industry, with an agenda aimed at consolidating Ibero-America as a creative and production hub with greater international visibility.

“Marysela has been a key voice in strengthening regional cooperation and positioning Costa Rica within the Ibero-American audiovisual conversation,” said Carolina Cordero, founder and president of IBEROFIC.

Cordero also highlighted the importance of maintaining a long-term vision and bringing together professionals with the experience and ability to build partnerships across the region.
