Atresmedia International Sales is attending Mipcom 2026 with a strategy that combines new Spanish scripted productions with the international distribution of its Turkish drama catalogue, in a market that demands commercial flexibility and content capable of connecting with diverse audiences.
“We’re extremely happy with the results of this past year. We’re bringing major new titles and new scripted series. Atresmedia’s series production machine never stops,” said Miguel García Sánchez, International Sales Director at the company.
In Spanish fiction, García Sánchez highlighted three original productions that share a focus on female-led stories, while exploring different genres and narrative worlds. The offering reinforces the company’s strategy of developing content for Atresplayer, with subsequent broadcast windows on the group’s channels, primarily Antena 3.
“We’re investing heavily in original stories where women are truly the protagonists,” García Sánchez explained.
Among the titles, García Sánchez highlighted Ágata y Lola, an eight-episode, 50-minute series following two police officers with very different backgrounds: a divorced woman and a young woman with autism. The slate also includes A la deriva, produced by Buendía Estudios in collaboration with Atresmedia. The ten-part, 50-minute series is set in a fishing village where the unexpected return of a group of men, years after a shipwreck, transforms the lives of the women who rebuilt their lives during their absence.
The third new title is Trazos ocultos, a six-part, 45-minute domestic noir produced by Buendía Estudios for Atresmedia. The series follows a woman who decides to investigate her husband’s double life after discovering that, although he claims to work as a pilot, he never actually flies, according to the executive.
