Movistar Plus+ International, the distribution arm of Movistar Plus+, presented on Tuesday, September 30, during the fifth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria, a series of sales and co-production agreements marking a new milestone in the international journey of Movistar Plus+ original fiction titles.

The company was established in 2022 with the mission of boosting the global distribution of the platform’s original productions, as well as securing co-production agreements with leading international partners to develop more ambitious projects designed to reach a global audience eager for stories with the hallmark of Spanish quality.

Agreement with ARTE France

European cultural broadcaster ARTE France has become a key partner for original fiction series, having recently confirmed its participation in Matar a un oso, currently in production.

In addition, ARTE France is also a co-producer of Anatomía de un instante, the new series from Alberto Rodríguez, premiering in Spain on November 20, starring Álvaro Morte, Eduard Fernández and Manolo Solo.

ARTE France will also premiere in November Los años nuevos, directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, adding to its lineup of Movistar Plus+ originals such as La Mesías and Querer, both of which achieved remarkable audience success.

Distribution in Latin America

Disney+ brings added prestige to two Movistar Plus+ original titles available across all Latin American territories where the streaming giant operates.

The series Los sin nombre, created by Pau Freixas and Pol Cortecans and starring Miren Ibarguren, Rodrigo de la Serna and Milena Smit, premiered on September 10 under an agreement closed by Movistar Plus+ International with Gloriamundi Producciones.

Disney+ also features the series Marbella, created by Dani de la Torre and Alberto Marini and starring Hugo Silva.

Additionally, through Flow, the TV and streaming service available in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, audiences can watch Movistar Plus+ originals Galgos, Querer and Segunda Muerte.

Distribution in Europe

Movistar Plus+ International’s European footprint continues to expand through a wide range of operators, territories and titles, including:

RaiPlay (Italy) – Successfully premiered Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s Los años nuevos.

Walter Presents (United Kingdom) – Channel 4’s acclaimed streaming service offers Hierro (two seasons), Marbella and Segunda Muerte.

Cinobo (Greece) – The premium streaming platform features Antidisturbios, Apagón, La canción, Los años nuevos and Querer.

NOS Lusomundo (Portugal) – Acquired rights to La Mesías, Los años nuevos, Marbella and Querer.

My Movies One (Italy) – Leading Italian streaming service includes La Mesías in its catalog.

LRT (Lithuania) – The public broadcaster acquired rights to La Mesías.

TRT (Turkey) – The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation airs Antidisturbios, Apagón, El hijo zurdo and Hierro (two seasons).

Distribution in Asia

Traditionally less receptive to European audiovisual content, the Asian market posed a major challenge that Movistar Plus+ International overcame through a landmark agreement with LG, the leading tech company also active in content distribution.

LG (South Korea) – Its streaming service now offers Antidisturbios, Apagón, Bellas Artes, El hijo zurdo, Galgos, Hierro (two seasons), La Mesías and Sentimos las molestias (two seasons).
