The event, which was scheduled to take place in a hybrid format in August, was postponed to June 2022 due to travel restrictions imposed on Hungary because of the pandemic.

The National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) announced today that the Natpe Budapest event, scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 2, 2021 at the InterContinental Hotel in the Hungarian capital, was postponed to 2022.

This is a decision made in view of the travel restrictions imposed on Hungary due to concerns about the growing variant of Covid-19 in the region.

“In the light ongoing developments concerning the rise of the Delta Variant of COVID-19 and travel restrictions preventing travel into Hungary, as well as restrictions on large scale meetings for those there, we have come to the decision to postpone NATPE Budapest International until June 2022, when we can again meet in-person and properly serve the CEE and MENA region “, they said from the organization.

The organization also decided not to organize a virtual edition: “As the pandemic evolves and our focus shifts towards getting back together in-person, we have also decided to forgo a virtual edition of the event.”

Natpe Budapest was planned to be carried out in a hybrid format, with face-to-face activities, that on the exhibition floor and meeting spaces, combined with additional virtual components, such as screenings, presentations and other networking tools.

“We look forward to seeing everyone together and face-to-face at NATPE Streaming Plus in Los Angeles on September 14th and NATPE Miami in January 2022, where we expect participation from every corner of the world and every aspect of the content industry”, they concluded.
