The new projects include the first series created by Daniel Sanchez Arevalo, the Blanca Suarez series Jaguar, and the music format ¡A cantar!

Netflix presented this Thursday in Madrid its main projects for 2020 in Spain, which include seven new original Spanish productions divided between two new series, a documentary, a dance contest and three films.

The new series were an untitled project created by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo, who will debut with Netflix in the world of the series, and Jaguar, starring Blanca Suárez.

In regard to the Arevalo series, the platform only anticipated that it will be “an exciting story of friendship and overcoming” and is still in development. It will be produced by Atypical Films.

Jaguar, meanwhile, will be produced by Bambú Producciones. It will be set in the 60s, where Spain housed hundreds of Nazi refugees after World War II. Isabel Garrido, a young Spanish woman who managed to survive the Mauthausen death camp, is on the trail of Skorzeny, known as the most dangerous man in Europe. She will discover that she is not alone in her mission and will join a group of agents in search of justice. Her code name: Jaguar.

The platform also announced a documentary film about the phenomenon of Money Heist. It explores the worldwide phenomenon that the series has become. It can be seen from April 3, coinciding with the premiere of Part 4 of the fiction created by Álex Pina.

Lastly, in terms of TV titles, the platform presented ¡A cantar!, a new musical contest where six participants will test their skills by performing well-known songs. The prize is a jackpot of up to 30,000 euros that will accumulate as they demonstrate who is the one that best refines and passes different phases.

THREE NEW FILMS

In terms of films, Netflix announced three new features:

Amor de madre. Movie directed by Paco Caballero and starring Carmen Machi (Criminal) and Quim Gutiérrez (The Neighbor), who plays a young man who has just been planted on the altar. In case that was not enough, his mother (with a tendency to overprotection) decides to accompany him on his honeymoon so as not to lose the money from the trip. While he can’t feel more miserable, his mother enjoys the best vacations of her life.

New feature film by Dani de la Orden. The new project of the director Dani de la Orden (Elite) revolves around the relationship between Adri, played by Álvaro Cervantes (Criminal) and Carla, played by Susana Abaitua (4 Cans). The story begins when Adri decides to voluntarily enter the psychiatric center where Carla resides with the aim of reuniting with her after a magical night together. This romantic comedy is currently in production.

Fuimos canciones. This film that will be released next year is the result of the work of adapting the songs and memories of Elísabet Benavent.

FIRST IMAGES AND TRAILERS

During the presentation, Netflix also revealed the first images of some of its previously announced productions, such as Alguien tiene que morir, El desorden que dejas and El inocente. These three original Spanish series created by Manolo Caro (The House of Flowers), Carlos Montero (Elite) and Oriol Paulo (Contratiempo) respectively, will be released next fall.

In addition, the trailer of the final season of Cable Girls was revealed, Netflix’s first Spanish original series comes to an end this year in two parts, the first will premiere on February 14.

Finally, a new image of Hogar was revealed, announcing its premiere on March 25.
