Rainbow, which has just started filming in Spain, will air exclusively worldwide on Netflix.

Netflix announced this Thursday that Rainbow, the new film directed by Paco León, will be seen exclusively around the world through its platform.

The film, whose filming has just started in Spain, is a Telecinco Cinema production in collaboration with Los amigos de Dorothy AIE, participated by Andy Joke and Colosé Producciones.

With a script written by Javier Gullón and Paco León himself, Rainbow narrates the initiatory journey of a teenager in a contemporary and very free version inspired by the literary classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and whose main characters are played by Dora Postigo, Áyax Pedrosa, Wekaforé Jibril (Spirit Disco), Carmen Maura, Carmen Machi and Luis Bermejo.

Hovik Keuchkerian, Samantha Hudson, Carmina Barrios and Soraya Yasmin join the cast of Rainbow, which has the special collaboration of Rossy de Palma and Ester Expósito.

“I’m scared to death and wanting to see what this film written in confinement is going to become, which I think is a step forward in my career as a director. A bigger movie, not just in budget, weeks of shooting, and production complexity. What I’m excited about is the number of artists that I admire who will be in the film. Main cast, small participations and collaborations of all kinds”, commented Paco León, director, producer and co-writer of Rainbow.

Filming for Rainbow will extend over eight weeks in Madrid, Guadalajara, Toledo, Segovia and Alicante.

The film has an important presence of different artistic disciplines such as dance, fashion, plastic arts and, mainly and prominently, music.
