The streaming platform will share a package of 41 matches per season with SporTV in Brazil under the new rights cycle, which also includes the tournament final.
Paramount+ will continue broadcasting the CONMEBOL Libertadores in Brazil through 2030 after renewing its rights for the 2027-2030 cycle. The new agreement guarantees the platform 41 matches per season and adds the tournament final to its broadcast package.
The renewal is part of the new distribution of audiovisual rights for the competition in the Brazilian market, where Paramount+ will share the pay-TV and streaming package with SporTV, Grupo Globo’s sports channel. Each broadcaster will carry 41 matches per edition, compared with the 82 matches included in Paramount+’s package during the previous rights cycle.
Coverage will span the competition’s preliminary rounds through its decisive stages, including the group stage, round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals and final.
The agreement also marks a shift in Paramount+’s programming strategy for the competition, as the platform will hold rights to broadcast the final during the new cycle. The move expands its involvement in one of South America’s leading sporting events and reinforces its investment in live sports for the Brazilian market.
“Live sports are a key pillar of our content strategy,” said Augusto Rovegno, senior vice president of content at Paramount+ for Latin America, commenting on the renewal. According to the executive, the agreement aims to continue delivering top-tier competitions that add value for subscribers.
The new rights distribution also includes previously awarded agreements with Globo, which will retain free-to-air broadcast rights, and ESPN, which will maintain its main pay-TV and streaming package for the 2027-2030 period.
Under this arrangement, the Libertadores will expand its presence across multiple distribution platforms in Brazil, while Paramount+ will maintain its connection with the tournament for another four seasons. Brazilian subscribers to the platform will also continue to have access to other sports properties in its portfolio, including UFC and Zuffa Boxing.
